My brother and grandmother tried to evacuate my hometown of Houston today. They were on the road for 14 hours and went about 60 miles before they decided to turn back and try to get a fresh start tomorrow. They have aplace waiting for them in Dallas with my cousins...but folks, if you pray or anything, it would be much appreciated if you could leave some room in your prayers or meditations or whatever, for my family and friends...andany one else you know who might be affected. And for those who have no one to pray for them. Thank you.

Thanks, yeah, the storm missed em, so they were really lucky. Turns out to be a good thing they weren't able to evacuate. Otherwise, they'd be stuck in traffic on the way back from Dallas.

Good to know that they are safe and sound. I understand (somewhat) what you are going through. I have family in Northern Ireland, and there was some rioting in the town where they live. A lot of people were injured. Luckily they were all ok, but it was apparently like a ghost town where they live because people got so scared.
Back to the storm, I had read that there were a lot of people that weren't going anywhere fast trying to evacuate in Texas, and it would be safer to be at home when the storm struck then to be on the road.
Does anyone else think that the weather has been a little extreme lately? All over the world?

Yeah. I don't want to get political or anything, but after all this I don't see how people can still deny glogal warming. Anyway, hope your family stay safe in Northern Ireland. I was in Belfast about a year ago, and it was weird. All the shops closing at 6 and NO ONE in the streets. It was a week before 12 July as well, so we saw people in Derry gathering wood for bonfires and stuff. Very surreal.
