Anyone know what Jason is up to? I mean, Brian is running around buying up web space so he's no mystery. But where's Jason? What's he buying up? I'm so depressed... There was that modlife post from Jason months and months ago about being happy to be writing, then nothing forever and now this break-up and Brian buying up rights to web addresses then not putting anything up. I just want to know whats going on, can someone who's maybe been following stuff better than me clue me in?
Please...

I am hoping he is in the process of forming a band similar to Convoy. Convoy was a great band in their day. The Pineapple Recording Sessions is a classic album. Long live the days when Convoy played with the great California rock band, the Mother Hips.
Louis XIV always seemed to me as Brian and Jason's attempt at quick fame and success. Some of the music is top notch, but it always came across as a bit gimmicky and lacking the soul of the Convoy days.
Just my two cents...

He did post something on Modlife Nov. 9, that he was going to New York Nov. 15. He was asking for ideas what to do. I gave my idea of a webcast or a Youtube video playing a new song acoustic in front of Times Square or The Statue of Liberty.
Convoy's "Black Licorice" was a cool record. Many great tunes. "Eleventeen" was my favorite. Louis XIV takes it to another level. LXIV is a concept band but has room to grow into something really special., Yes, some gimmick tunes but many real tunes. When you really listen to all their songs; the lyrics, the music and grooves, band interaction between members and the production value (the Mix), it's GENIUS! Jason Hill and Brian Karscig song writing is like Lennon/McCartney or Jagger/Richards. The band with Mark Maigaard and James Armbrust makes it like the Beatles or the Stones but being themselves. The 2009 European tour without those guys wasn't the same (I saw the Youtubes). The original LXIV is a solid band. Each member brings something to the table. The cohesiveness is awesome. I was at the Casbah show 1-22-09 with the original lineup and it was AMAZING! I could go on and on...on how cool they are. Hopefully LXIV will be back.

oooh awesome link and good news there! I wonder if he'll release any of his music, sounds neat. Excited about the news of The Nervous Wreckords releasing an album this summer too (linked article).

One of my favorite rock docs of all time is "New York Doll," about the Dolls' original bassist Arthur "Killer" Kane. It's great to see Jason up there holding the torch for a little while. Thanks for posting this.
