Mine is Anne of Green Gables. It's a kids book about this orphan in Canada. I know it's not very high-brow but I always go back to it when I'm upset or home sick.
Does anyone else have something really pants for their favourite or are yours by literary greats lol? xxxx

I like the British one, it's interesting to see home through the eyes of someone else.

I work at Barnes and Noble, and I'm an absolute book junkie. Here are a few of my favorite books:
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer - gorgeous, heartbreaking. This book was so lovely and poignant, I felt bad closing the book on the little boy the story is about when it was over.
Catcher In The Rye by JD Salinger - classic. Everyone loves this book. I love it because the author provides such a real adolescent voice to the main character. All of us have felt hapless and hopeless at one point or another and can relate to Holden Cauffield.
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley - it's strange and frightening how prophetic Huxley was...
Cash by Johnny Cash - one of my FAVORITE autobiographies. He was a very easygoing and colorful writer. The tale he tells about all of his songwriter friends sitting around in a circle debuting songs (one of them being "Lay Lady Lay" by Bob Dylan, the very first time he every played that song for anyone) gives me goosebumps. If you love music, even if it's not country music, the book is utterly fascinating.
