does anyone know where it came from? if not, i just read about it the other day. turns out the king was very into ballet, and was known for dancing the part of appollo. hence, the nickname the sun king. go louis twinkletoes!

There are loads of reasons why he was called the Sun King.
The ballet one Everything revolves around the sun, so in France, everything revolves around Louis Brightest star - Louis is brightest thing in his opinion.
There are more which I forgot.
No idea where the band got the nickname, probably whilst they were recording in Paris.

i think jason said that the self titled was supposed to be a one time concept album.
it follows the story of a boy growing up who believes he is louis xiv
but then the band just got too big for it to be a one time thing
